just because you're my mythological boyfriend doesn't mean i have to like your new album

So...how about them Pistons.

Ahem.

It was close. But we pulled it out in the end. That's all that matters. Next up the Cavs.

Yeesh.

The Davisons are here! The Davisons are here! The Davisons are here!

I have had the pleasure of seeing them two times in two days. Today I'm at work and tonight they're going to some fundraising concert in Fennville with the extended fam. I decided against attending as tonight I need to prepare myself for my hot date with Jesus tomorrow. Yes, folks, you heard that right. I will be attending church. Pretty much the only thing my Dad really really wanted to do (aside from spend gobs of time with his youngest daughter!) was attend Mars Hill in Grandville, Michigan. This is, according to a bar friend of mine, the fastest growing church in the country. And, huge surprise, it's right here in western Michigan.

Shocking. I know.

Regardless, I have agreed to accompany them tomorrow morning at 11 for one of the 3 worship services they offer. I'm going in with a big old open mind and I'm sure I'll have plenty to talk about post-event.

And no. I don't think the roof is going to cave in nor do I think I'll spontaneously combust.

Yesterday was a superfantasticallydelicious day. Mi compandre at work and I headed to GR for a day of shopping and beauty and meeting the Gleis for lunch. The man has lived in that town for 7 years and he got us lost. Twice. Nor could he find Marie Catrib's which I could have found had he told me what he was looking for before he headed back downtown. We had so much fun. Man oh man I miss that man. I forget that librarians--actual librarians--can be under the age of 55 and really cool. And have a filthy mouth. I miss his sweatervested self here in Holland. I also picked up a sweet summer dress for $8.00 thanks to a leftover gift certificate from Christmas and spent an obscene amount of money on Bobbi Brown makeup. I then headed to Fennville for a birthday dinner where I was made fun of for being a vegetarian for the brazillionth time, hung out with a big old dog who is under the mistaken impression she's a chihuahua, and saw my cousin for the first time in about a year and a half. Which was amazing.

In other news, I'm going to attempt to grow some things. I'm notoriously bad with plants. They inevitably die slow painful parched deaths. My first attempt is going to be some herbs I purchased at the farmers market today. I'm already terrified!
