abraham lincoln? sexyugly.

Yeah, so, I just kind of stopped blogging. No reason. Just...wanted to stop.

Instead of being all kinds of verbose and silly I'll just do the highlights of the last 3 months:

  • I finished the dress. I had a nervous breakdown, but I finished the dress. It was lovely.
  • I was writing poetry for awhile there. And some of it was pretty good. And alot of it wasn't. I haven't written anything in a few weeks though I have a some images involving a bear paw on my head, bees that go awol, and tiny cats I'm working through.
  • I went to Colorado and I fell in love. I fell in love with the mountains, I fell in love with my aunt and uncle, I fell in love with the idea of owning and operating a small press someday, and I fell in love with the Laws of Attraction.
  • I acquired a very big antique desk and rearranged my apartment to accommodate said desk. It's awesome. I feel like the Supreme Leader of Erinland which I think is appropriate.
  • I live in a state that is going DOWN. Libraries and arts organizations have only received 50% of their funding from this past fiscal year, per student funding to schools is likely to be cut and next year is looking to be worse. My job isn't in jeopardy yet, though the director is talking layoffs within a year or so. Coincidentally, the same day I got this news I was honored for 5 years of service in my current job. A personal record for stayingputness methinks.
  • I am currently organizing a 30th Anniversary Star Wars party for the library and am in contact with some adults who dress up like Stormtroopers. It's gonna be sweet.
  • I have been flabbergasted these past months at the blatant irresponsible behavior of this administration and have decided, hands down, it will go down as one of the most corrupt in American history: Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Gonzales, Wolfowitz, and George himself. When I look at that group of names I become enraged, embarrassed, and sick to my stomach.
  • I'm disgusted at the sheer amount of money the leading candidates are raising in the Democratic party. I'd say the Republican party too, but no one's shown up yet worth getting riled up over. As Kucinich is the only man gutsy enough to leave the Diane Rehm show early to vote on the floor and the first to file articles of impeachment against Cheney, I'm thinking he might be my man throughout the primaries. Neither Obama nor Hillary need me gunning for them.
  • The Pistons and the Red Wings are in the playoffs again this year. So far I have not been a curse on either of their houses. The Tigers aren't looking so hot, but we've got about a brazillion games ahead of us. No need to panic yet.
  • Grace, my cat, is officially on a diet. She has reached unnaturally large proportions. I am joining her in this springtime health kick. Winter has been rough on both of us and it's time to get back our beautiful figures or, in her case, at least her neck.
  • I started watching Ken Burns' The Civil War. I have never seen it. I am one episode in and am amazed I know so little about this defining moment in this country's history.

And I've obviously developed a crush on Mr. Lincoln.

Yummy!
